Valentines Day is today. Yes I’m still single and yes, I plan on staying that way for quite a while. However, that doesn’t mean that I can’t love, does it? Last night, after reading a particular book, I decided to read I Corinthians 13. I don’t know how or why I flipped there, but I did and actually decided to read the chapter.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Yipes. Every time I read I Corinthians 13, I always brush it off because I don’t have a significant other to love. Then the thought struck me that I didn’t need that. God commands us to love our neighbors and even our enemies. Ouch! I’ll admit, I have not been the best at loving those around me lately and God used this chapter to convict me of that. Frequently I’m envious, impatient, rude and unfortunately, I have an elephant memory that compiles all the wrongs others have done to me. Instead of bemoaning my singleness this season, I’ve decided to work hard on overcoming my own faults and loving those that God has placed in my life.

Those of you who read my blog regularly know that Little G frequently graces the space here. On Sunday, I got to babysit him…so of course, I brought my camera along 😉 This was a special trip because this week, Little G will no longer be an only child 😀 😀 I thoroughly enjoyed my time with him and can’t wait to meet his new sister!
edit:: Little G became a big brother this morning 😀 😀 His mommy did indeed have a little girl, Baby E, and I am super stoked about getting to see her. Sometime soon maybe I’ll get some pictures of her 😉
